Our mission is to promote the health and vitality of living beings, by making effective, high-quality, delicious, and sustainable mushroom and botanical medicine
accessible to everyone.
Mushrooms, along with other plant medicines, have been used to support the health and vitality of human lives, spirits, and societies since the time before time. Depicted on cave walls, extracted in wine and beer for centuries before distillation, and defended as that which holds together all of society (said Praetextatus on the eleusinian Religious Rites), mushrooms and plant medicine have been important to us since the beginning. And archaeo-chemistry, like the rest of archaeology, is pushing the clocks back further every day.
This medicine belongs to everyone! Only a tiny fraction of the science has been done so far, but we’re learning more all the time about how helpful mushroom medicine can be for supporting our body’s many intricately balanced systems. And still, the lack of science is only one of the many barriers there are between mushroom medicine and the people.
The vision of Archaic Apothecary is to eliminate these barriers, by teaching and inspiring curiosity about mushroom medicine, and continuously improving our production of quality extracts, endeavoring to make this medicine available to everyone who needs it.
My name is Jesus Leon, the human behind the vision. After studying and making use of mushroom and botanical medicines for most of my life, I have come to credit them for much of my health, vitality, and personal progress. I’ve developed a deep respect for how powerful these medicines can be, for everything from autoimmune disorders and cancer, to depression and insomnia.
After making extracts for myself for some time, I began to know the joy of having enough mushroom medicine to share! And that’s where Archaic Apothecary began—with a mission to create the highest quality mushroom extracts, using only the best ingredients, and (like everything I do) with a whole lot of heart and intention… and NOT the big pharma exploitation!
While sharing the mushroom medicines, I’ve made it my side quest to share everything I’ve learned along the way, and bring the Archaic community along with me as I learn more. So please stay tuned on our socials, and Stay Curious!
